About Wesfarmers
What Wesfarmers does, its mission and values, and what it's like to work there in Australia.
Wesfarmers (ASX: WES) is one of Australia's largest listed companies, a diversified conglomerate headquartered in Perth. Founded in 1914 as a farmers' cooperative, it now owns some of the country's best-known retail brands — Bunnings, Kmart, Target, Officeworks, and Priceline — along with chemicals, energy and fertiliser, industrial and safety products, lithium, and a health division.
Across the group Wesfarmers employs well over 100,000 people, the large majority in its retail businesses, and trades in every state and territory.
Because Wesfarmers operates through its divisions, most jobs sit within the individual businesses — in Bunnings warehouses, Kmart and Target stores, Officeworks, and the industrial and chemicals operations — covering store and trade roles, manufacturing and plant operations, and distribution. The group also recruits directly for its Perth head office and shared services in finance, strategy, technology, legal, and people functions, and runs a well-known graduate program.
Applications are generally made through each division's careers site as well as the Wesfarmers corporate careers page; CareerTrees links through to those official listings.
