Stripe is a global payments infrastructure provider whose products let businesses accept online and in-person payments, run subscriptions, issue cards, and operate marketplaces. Founded in 2010 by brothers Patrick and John Collison, Stripe processes payments for millions of companies — from start-ups to listed enterprises — across more than 50 countries.

Stripe's Australian operation runs from Sydney and Melbourne, with Sydney hosting the largest engineering presence outside of the company's North American hubs. Australian engineers contribute to global infrastructure for payments, fraud, banking-as-a-service, and developer tools. Stripe runs an in-office work model in its hub cities with limited remote roles by exception.

Stripe is privately held with a most recent secondary-market valuation above US$70 billion. Australian hiring is heavy in software engineering — backend, infrastructure, payments — alongside revenue, partnerships, risk operations, and recruiting.
