KFC is a fried-chicken quick-service restaurant brand owned globally by Yum! Brands. It opened its first Australian outlet in 1968 and now trades in every state and territory. Australian restaurants are not run by a single company: some are operated directly by Yum!, while most are run by independent franchise groups. The largest is the ASX-listed Collins Foods, which operates close to 300 KFC restaurants here and also brings Taco Bell to Australia.

Because KFC runs through franchisees, most jobs are at restaurant level and are advertised by the operator of each location. Frontline roles include team member, cook, and all-rounder positions — casual and part-time, and often a first job for students — covered by the Fast Food Industry Award. These step up to shift supervisor and then restaurant general manager.

Larger operators such as Collins Foods also hire above the restaurant: area coaches and operations managers, plus support-office roles in human resources, training, supply chain, property and development, finance, and marketing.

KFC restaurants are among Australia's larger quick-service employers when the franchise network is counted together. Applications are handled directly through KFC and its franchise operators; CareerTrees links through to those official listings.
