JB Hi-Fi is one of Australia's largest consumer-electronics and home-entertainment retailers, selling phones, computers, televisions, audio, gaming, and appliances. Listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: JBH) and headquartered in Southbank, Melbourne, the group runs about 205 JB Hi-Fi and JB Hi-Fi Home stores in Australia and owns The Good Guys appliance chain (around 100 stores) and the commercial-AV business E&S.
The group employs about 16,000 people across Australia and New Zealand and trades in every Australian state and territory.
Most jobs are in stores: sales roles across mobile, computers, audio-visual, gaming, and accessories, plus point-of-sale, stock, and online order fulfilment. JB Hi-Fi also runs a business-to-business arm, JB Hi-Fi Business, that hires account managers and solutions staff for corporate, education, and government customers. Store leadership runs from department supervisors and 2ICs to store managers.
Behind the stores sit distribution-centre and logistics roles and a Southbank support office covering buying and merchandise, technology and e-commerce, marketing, finance, and people functions. Store roles are commonly casual or part-time under the General Retail Industry Award, with full-time roles in management, B2B, distribution, and head office.
