Healthscope has been one of Australia's largest private hospital operators, running a national network of hospitals across most states covering surgery, maternity, mental health, and rehabilitation. Its ownership has been in significant transition: in 2025 the group's parent companies were placed into receivership over their debt, and through 2026 its hospitals have been moving to new operators — with a large group of sites set to be run by Calvary Health and other hospitals transferring to different owners.

Hospital roles — nursing, midwifery, theatre and perioperative staff, allied health, patient support, and hospital services such as catering and cleaning — continue at the sites as they change hands, advertised by Healthscope or by the incoming operator depending on the hospital's status.

Because the operator of individual hospitals is changing, prospective applicants should confirm which organisation currently runs a given site. Applications are handled through the relevant hospital operator's careers site; CareerTrees links through to those official listings.
