About Boq
What Boq does, its mission and values, and what it's like to work there in Australia.
Bank of Queensland (ASX: BOQ) is an Australian retail and business bank headquartered in Brisbane, founded in 1874. Beyond the BOQ brand it owns ME Bank and Virgin Money Australia, and provides everyday banking, home and business lending, and deposit products. Historically known for its owner-managed branch model, BOQ moved during 2024–2025 to convert those branches into corporate branches.
The group employs roughly 3,500 people. Customer-facing roles include branch lending and service staff, contact-centre consultants, and home-lending and business-banking specialists across its brands.
Corporate and support roles — based mainly in Brisbane and other capital cities — cover technology and digital, risk and compliance, finance, operations, marketing, and people functions, as the bank continues a multi-year technology and simplification program. BOQ recruits through graduate programs, internships, and experienced hires. Applications are handled through the BOQ careers site; CareerTrees links through to those official listings.
