Founded in 2014 by Nick Molnar and Anthony Eisen, the company now serves millions of active customers across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada.
Since early 2022 Afterpay has operated as part of Block, Inc. (NYSE: SQ). The Australian business retains substantial Sydney and Melbourne presence in engineering, product, risk, fraud operations, marketing, partnerships, and merchant support. Block runs a "Choice" work model that lets most roles select between fully-remote, hybrid, or office-first arrangements.
