At Goodman, your career is more than just a job – it’s about growth, innovation, and making a lasting impact. Whether you’re building your career in property, data centres, finance, legal, or beyond, we value diverse perspectives and seek individuals who are passionate about driving our business forward.

As providers of essential infrastructure for the digital economy, Goodman has been developing its data centre capability since 2005. Since then, we have grown to become a large owner of powered sites globally. Our global power bank of 5.0GW includes completed facilities, secured power and potential data centre projects across 13 major international cities. This has been built up over time through our expertise in securing land, planning and power in highly sought after locations in major global cities.

Architect - Data Centres

We're looking for an Architect to join Goodman's internal data centre design and development team. This is a front-end design role — focused on concept design, site analysis and early-stage spatial planning across a growing national pipeline of hyperscale and edge data centre projects.

You'll work alongside Development Managers and an internal team of MEP subject matter experts to unlock site potential, produce architectural master plans and massing concepts, and help shape projects before they're handed to external delivery teams.

This role suits an architect with 2–5 years of post-graduate experience who wants to build capability in conceptual master planning, consultant coordination and early design problem-solving within complex, highly serviced environments.

What you'll do

Produce concept designs, master plans and massing studies that maximise site utility and support project feasibility across the national DC pipeline.

Translate customer requirements and technical briefs into functional architectural responses during early project definition.

Work closely with internal MEP engineers to integrate power, cooling and service routing into early architectural envelopes and spatial layouts.

Coordinate external architectural consultants across multiple states, ensuring concept schemes align with Goodman design standards, timeframes and quality expectations.

Conduct site analysis — topography, access, constraints, utility servicing — across varied site conditions.

Research local planning controls, zoning rules and state-based approval pathways (NSW, VIC, QLD) to support concept alignment.

Produce clear diagrams, site plans, test fits and visual presentation material for project proposals and stakeholder discussions.

Support design reviews, track consultant deliverables and maintain coordination and consistency across early-stage project outputs.

Experience required

Bachelor or Master of Architecture

2–5 years of post-graduate experience in a professional architectural setting.

Data centre experience is preferred (strong experience in large industrial, infrastructure or mission critical projects is highly regarded).

A solid understanding of how highly serviced MEP buildings work and how major power, cooling and service infrastructure influence architectural layouts essential

Experience working with multidisciplinary consultants and technical stakeholders across concept design, feasibility or early project stages.

Working knowledge of Australian planning controls, zoning pathways and local approval requirements for industrial or infrastructure developments.

Strong spatial problem-solving skills and an interest in heavy industrial or technology-driven master planning.

High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

Experience with Rhino, SketchUp, Enscape or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

Clear communication skills. You can explain design logic, layout strategies and site responses to engineers, Development Managers and non-architectural stakeholders with confidence.

To apply, submit your CV and a brief portfolio or sample of relevant project work.
