You’re a Senior User Interface Designer (UI) passionate about delivering intuitive, polished and engaging digital experiences with people at the centre of your design process.

You bring strong visual and interaction design capability, experience contributing to scalable design systems, and a sharp eye for craft and detail. You’re motivated by creating high-quality digital experiences that are not only visually refined, but genuinely useful and easy to use across complex environments.

Do work that matters

As a Senior UI Designer within People Enablement, you will help shape the look, feel and functionality of digital experiences used by employees and leaders across CommBank.

Working across internal products, platforms and services, you’ll collaborate closely with Product Designers, stakeholders and engineers to bring thoughtful, high-quality experiences to life. You’ll contribute to and evolve the CommBank Design Language for HR, while helping drive greater consistency, usability and quality across employee experiences.

Your ability to craft polished interfaces, navigate complexity, communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams will set you up for success in this role.

See yourself in our team

This Senior UI Designer role sits within the People Enablement Design chapter, supporting initiatives across HR, employee experience, people services and internal digital platforms.

You’ll work within collaborative, fast-paced squads focused on designing simpler, better experiences across key people processes, systems and tools. From improving self-service experiences and modernising internal workflows, to shaping entirely new digital capabilities, you’ll help create experiences that make it easier for our people to get what they need and navigate moments that matter throughout their experience at CommBank.

On any given week you will:

  • Lead and manage 1–2 major UI initiatives as part of a squad, with support from Product Designer, Product Owners, and other cross-disciplinary squad members

  • Design high-quality human-centred experiences across responsive and native platforms

  • Translate concepts, wireframes and user flows into polished interface designs and interactive prototypes

  • Collaborate with Product Designers, Engineers and stakeholders to shape and refine digital experiences

  • Contribute to evolving the CommBank Design Language, UI patterns and reusable components, with a focus on the HR brand and component library

  • Present work in critiques, playbacks and stakeholder forums to strengthen design outcomes and alignment

  • Support design handover and work closely with engineering teams to ensure high-quality execution

  • Contribute to uplifting craft, consistency and ways of working across the broader design practice

  • Mentor and support other designers through collaboration, feedback and knowledge sharing

We’re interested to hear from people who have:

  • Strong user interface and interaction design capability, with the ability to shape experience direction and influence design outcomes

  • Demonstrated experience creating high-quality UI designs, design systems, reusable components, prototypes and interaction patterns

  • Experience designing within complex, multi-platform and enterprise environments

  • Exceptional craft and attention to detail, with advanced proficiency in Figma

  • Demonstrated experience creating functional, high-fidelity prototypes

  • Experience contributing to or evolving design systems and scalable UI patterns

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage with designers, engineers and senior stakeholders

  • Experience supporting design QA and working closely with engineering teams through delivery

  • A curious mindset with an interest in emerging technologies, evolving design practices and continuous learning

  • Experience designing for employee experiences, internal tools, HR/People environments or complex service ecosystems would be highly regarded, but is not essential

  • A degree in Visual Communication, Graphic Design or a related Human-Computer Interaction field is preferred
