As a Senior Product Designer, you'll lead the design of end-to-end experiences across internal products, platforms and services, helping solve complex people, process and technology challenges at scale. Working across HR and employee experience initiatives, you’ll help create thoughtful, intuitive and impactful experiences that make it easier for our people to get what they need, complete important tasks and navigate moments that matter throughout their experience at CommBank.

You are someone who thrives working end-to-end, from discovery and research through to service design, UX/UI design and delivery, and will join a collaborative, customer-focused product team.
This Senior Product Designer role sits within the People Enablement Design chapter, supporting initiatives across HR, employee experience, people services and internal digital platforms. You’d partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, HR stakeholders, Business SMEs and delivery teams in an agile environment to deeply understand user needs and translate insights into elegant, scalable experiences that deliver both people and business value.
You’ll be comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity across systems, processes and stakeholder groups, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on design execution to create seamless cross-channel experiences. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of employee experience design across HR and influencing broader product and design direction.
Key responsibilities
Lead discovery work to uncover user needs, pain points and opportunities, informing product and experience strategy through research, workshops and co-design
Translate insights into concepts, user flows, service blueprints, prototypes and design explorations that help validate assumptions and build stakeholder confidence in recommended solutions
Create engaging wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity UX/UI designs that align to our design system and deliver intuitive, scalable and feasible experiences
Apply systems thinking and human-centred design methodologies to shape experiences across complex digital and operational ecosystems
Design and improve employee and leader experiences across internal services, systems, workflows and processes
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Content Designers, Accessibility specialists, HR stakeholders, Legal and Risk partners throughout the agile lifecycle
Champion customer and employee-centricity, advocating for best-in-class, inclusive and accessible experiences at every stage of discovery and delivery
Contribute to product strategy and roadmap discussions by grounding decisions in customer insights, behavioural data, experimentation and a test-and-learn mindset
Facilitate and participate in critiques, workshops and agile ceremonies, providing and receiving actionable feedback to continuously improve outcomes
Contribute to evolving our design systems, patterns and ways of working to improve consistency, scalability and efficiency
Measure and validate impact post-launch using qualitative and quantitative insights to iterate and improve solutions
Explore how emerging technologies, including AI, can thoughtfully improve experiences in practical and human-centred ways
What you’ll bring
Proven experience designing digital products, services or platforms end-to-end within cross-functional product teams
Demonstrated ability to lead discovery and delivery activities with customers, stakeholders, product and engineering teams
Deep understanding of human-centred design methodologies and the ability to apply them pragmatically in fast-paced agile environments
Strong interaction and visual design skills, with a high level of craft and attention to detail
Experience designing for complex systems, enterprise environments, internal tools or service ecosystems — not just isolated features
Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across varied levels of the organisation
Proficiency in modern design tools such as Figma, with a working understanding of front-end concepts including components and design systems
Comfort navigating ambiguity, balancing user needs, technical constraints and business priorities
Experience with metrics-driven product development, experimentation and iterative delivery
A practical, adaptable mindset with the ability to work across varied and evolving priorities
A portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design thinking, collaboration, craft and measurable impact
Nice to have
Experience designing within HR, employee experience, internal tooling, people and culture, enterprise services or other complex operational environments
Experience within Financial Services or other regulated industries
Exposure to AI-powered, conversational or adaptive experiences
Passion for mentoring others and uplifting design craft and capability across teams
