Consumer Marketing is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) within the Marketing and Corporate Affairs function at CBA. We directly support the Retail Bank leadership team and deliver toward Retail Bank priorities.

Within the Consumer Marketing CoE is the CommSec, Wealth and Private (W&P) Marketing Chapter, responsible for defining the marketing strategies and plans to execute on the business strategy. We are a passionate team of marketing professionals who plan and deliver world-class marketing initiatives focused on our customers.

Do work that matters


Reporting to the Executive Manager – CommSec, Wealth & Private Marketing, you will be the CommSec Marketing Lead and strategic partner to the CommSec leadership team and key delivery crews. You will lead a team spanning brand, acquisition and media, social and content, bringing these disciplines together to deliver integrated customer and business outcomes.

On any given day, you will:

• Lead and evolve the CommSec marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, consideration, preference, acquisition and customer engagement.

• Continue to build the CommSec brand by developing and refining its messaging architecture, ensuring a clear and compelling narrative that differentiates CommSec in the market and resonates with target audiences.

• Drive market share growth by identifying and prioritising growth audiences, developing insight-led marketing strategies and creating compelling narratives for CommSec’s products and services.

• Lead, coach and develop a team of marketing managers/specialists, ensuring brand, media, social and content strategies work together to maximise impact and deliver against business objectives.

• Build and optimise CommSec’s content ecosystem, leveraging strategic content and media partnerships to expand reach, drive engagement and strengthen brand preference.

• Use customer, market and performance insights to identify opportunities, shape marketing priorities and influence proposition and product development.

• Bring together cross-functional teams across marketing, product, digital, media, analytics, communications and distribution to develop and execute best-in-class go-to-market strategies and customer communication plans.

• Foster a culture of marketing excellence, driving high standards of execution, collaboration and continuous improvement across all marketing activity.

We’d love to hear from people who have:

• Extensive experience leading integrated marketing strategies across brand, acquisition, content and customer engagement disciplines.

• Strong brand management experience, including development of brand strategy, positioning and messaging frameworks.

• Demonstrated success in driving customer growth and market share through audience-led marketing strategies and commercial outcomes.

• Experience building compelling product and service narratives that connect customer needs with business objectives.

• Strong knowledge and experience working with investing segments and audiences.

• Deep understanding of content, social and media channels, including how they work together to build awareness, consideration and preference.

• Insight-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to translate customer, market and performance data into actionable strategies and business outcomes.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a proven ability to align senior leaders and cross-functional teams around shared goals.

• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, creating an environment of collaboration, accountability and growth.

• Strong business acumen and understanding of ROI/ROMI, campaign effectiveness and budget management.

• A growth mindset, with a passion for solving problems, challenging the status quo and driving continuous improvement.

• Experience working in agile environments and leading cross-functional delivery teams (preferred).
