As a Senior Data Scientist in Financial Crime domain, you’ll be a hands-on technical leader working in multiple cross-functional squads with engineers and other experts to design and deliver innovative, responsible and high impact AI solutions for multiple projects at once. You’ll stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, fostering a culture of curiosity, inclusion, and continuous learning in the team, and translating complex ideas into high-impact outcomes for our customers and colleagues. You’ll contribute strongly to guide the team on technically demanding problems across Fin Crime domain as AI continues to evolve.

Responsibilities:
Define and enhance processes associated with deploying, monitoring and running models in production.
Ensure compliance and assist with various regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures and the responsible use of AI.
Generate and communicate insights aligned to business objectives and relevant to diverse stakeholders and clients, taking into consideration business roles and technical understanding of audiences.
Contribute to the delivery of data science projects from inception to completion, including scoping, planning, execution and delivery of results.
Utilise generative AI tools to assist in coding tasks, crafting prompts to generate output, and integrating AI-generated results with human-driven output.
Provide guidance and coaching to the team on applying appropriate modelling and statistical techniques.

We’re looking for a candidate who brings a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience in delivering impactful data science solutions. The ideal candidate will have:
Extensive experience in data science and machine learning, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end projects from problem scoping and data preparation to model development, deployment, and monitoring.
Advanced proficiency in AI and data literacy, including the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Deep expertise in statistical modelling and machine learning techniques, with practical experience applying them to solve real-world business problems.
Hands-on experience with MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong working knowledge of generative AI tools and techniques, including prompt engineering, integrating AI-generated outputs into workflows, and enhancing productivity through AI-assisted development.
Proficiency in software engineering principles, including version control, testing, and scalable solution design, to ensure robust and maintainable ML systems.
Tertiary Qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or Computer Science.
