As a Senior Data Scientist in Business Banking  you'll help shape the future of intelligent banking experiences. Working within the Payments domain, you'll design and deploy advanced AI and machine learning solutions that automate processes, enhance customer experiences and support critical business decision-making.

You'll combine deep technical expertise with commercial thinking to solve complex problems, working across high-impact initiatives that leverage Generative AI.  This is an opportunity to influence how AI is applied at scale while mentoring others and contributing to the ongoing evolution of the Bank's AI capability.

Within Business Banking, you'll work alongside data scientists, AI specialists, product teams and business leaders to deliver innovative solutions that create real customer and business value.

You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across frontline teams, product, risk, controls and technology functions, bringing together diverse perspectives to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the design, development and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions

• Apply Generative AI, Agentic AI and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques to solve complex business challenges

• Develop and enhance high-risk analytical models that support business and customer outcomes

• Partner with senior stakeholders across business, risk and technology to identify opportunities and drive adoption of AI solutions

• Build scalable, production-ready AI applications and ensure ongoing monitoring and performance optimisation

• Mentor and develop data scientists while contributing to a strong and inclusive team culture

• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for executive audiences

We're interested in hearing from people who:

• Have significant experience delivering Data Science, Machine Learning or AI solutions within financial services, fintech or other complex environments

• Have hands-on experience deploying Generative AI applications into production

• Demonstrate expertise across prompt engineering, RAG architectures, safety guardrails and Agentic AI frameworks

• Are highly proficient in Python, SQL and statistical modelling techniques for large-scale data environments

• Possess strong stakeholder management skills and can influence senior leaders through data-driven insights

• Have experience developing, validating or overseeing high-risk  models and model governance practices

• Enjoy leading, coaching and mentoring others while fostering a collaborative team culture
