- Produce written intelligence assessments that clearly separate data, analysis and judgement
Advanced Analytics & Data Interrogation
- Extract, interrogate, and analyse large, complex, and multi-source datasets, including structured and unstructured data.
- Build and run complex SQL queries (e.g. in Teradata or similar platforms) to source, join, and prepare data for analysis.
- Perform deeper analytical assessment using analytical languages such as Python, SAS, or similar.
- Analyse big data and large datasets, managing data quality issues, gaps, and ambiguity.
Use advanced Excel capability to support exploratory analysis, validation, trend analysis, and presentation of results. - Translate analytical outputs into risk indicators, detection hypotheses, and intelligence priorities.
From Insight to Action
- Convert analytical findings into clear, concise, and well-structured written outputs.
- Produce high-quality written reporting that enables senior stakeholders to quickly understand risk and rationale.
- Shape earlier points of detection across detection and investigation workflows.
- Clearly articulate analytical assumptions, limitations, and residual uncertainty.
Capability & Analytical Maturity
- Uplift analytical and intelligence capability through improved methods and repeatable products.
- Act as a subject matter leader in analytical reasoning, intelligence writing, and evidence-based judgement.
- Develop scalable intelligence products rather than one-off reviews.
Governance, Judgement & Defensibility
- Exercise strong analytical judgement in the lawful and proportionate use of sensitive data.
- Ensure intelligence activity is well documented and defensible.
- Operate effectively in a high-risk, high-governance environment.
What We’re Looking For

- Ability to balance depth with practical outcomes.
What Success Looks Like
- Emerging risks identified earlier through intelligence-led analysis.
- Intelligence outputs are trusted and used in decision-making.
- Analytical maturity across the team improves.
- Detection outcomes improve through targeted, evidence-based use of data.
