At CommSec, we believe in empowering people to grow their knowledge and build financial confidence. As one of our Equity Market Commentator – Media and Markets, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Australians understand global and local markets, helping them invest with confidence. 

Your insights will contribute to CommSec’s customer-centric strategy, building both education and trust. 

On any given day, you will

In this role, you will provide timely, relevant and engaging commentary on equity markets across a range of formats, helping customers stay informed and connected to market developments. 

You will help inspire, educate, and empower customers, broadening their understanding of investing and the possibilities it creates. 

By contributing analysis across digital platforms including app, website, video, podcast and social, you will help ensure CommSec maintains a consistent and visible presence across key channels. 

You will contribute to the production of high‑quality market content, including written updates, video segments and audio content, aligned to key market moments and customer needs. Working closely with content producers and the broader Media and Markets team, you will help ensure insights are effectively positioned, delivered and amplified. 

You will represent CommSec across external media channels where required, including television, radio and digital platforms, providing insights that are credible, balanced and easy to understand. Through this, you will contribute to strengthening CommSec’s profile and visibility in external markets. 

You will also support ongoing content initiatives, including events, special content series and customer engagement opportunities, contributing your perspective to enhance relevance and impact. 

This role requires flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including early morning coverage, to support consistent and reliable market updates. 

Throughout, you will ensure commentary aligns with CommSec’s standards, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. 

What We Value in You 

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong knowledge of equity markets and the ability to interpret market developments with clarity and confidence. 

You will be able to communicate complex financial information in a way that is simple, engaging and relevant to customers. Experience presenting across multiple formats, including video, audio or written content, will be highly regarded. 

You will be comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment, responding to market developments and delivering timely insights. Flexibility is essential, including the ability to work across varying shifts and contribute to early market coverage. 

Strong collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with content producers, editors and stakeholders across the business. You will be proactive in identifying relevant stories, trends and insights that can enhance content and audience engagement. 

You’ll also understand the importance of accuracy, balance and compliance, ensuring all commentary meets required standards. 

You will be required to be RG 146 compliant.
