The CommSec Data and Insights Centre of Excellence (CoE) is a central Data and Analytics function that supports the delivery of Data and Advanced Analytics offerings and services. The CoE’s mission is to provide trusted data, capabilities and actionable insights in partnership with our stakeholders to drive customer experience, empower decision making and safeguard our data.

We are the Insights and Decision Science Chapter within the CoE and are responsible for CommSec’s Insights and Advanced Analytics functions. We support the strategic decision - making process of the business by way of advanced and insights analytics, campaign execution and remediation analytics. We are also responsible for providing integrated online and offline behavioural insights, building analytics frameworks that help assess and drive customer engagement and building advanced analytics solutions and tools to help CommSec optimise its resources, improve its processes and minimise risk.

In this role

As an Advanced Analytics Manager within the Cash Squad in the Product & Investing Solutions Crew, you will support the delivery of the Product and Advanced Analytics backlog for CommSec’s Cash product suite. You will use your advanced SQL, Python and commercial skillset to design, build and deliver advanced analytics solutions that drive forward various initiatives, including Cash portfolio performance and optimisation, customer insights to drive strategic initiatives, competitor pricing and market tracking, automation of regular reporting, predictive modelling and agentic AI.

You will also implement effective risk management solutions, strengthen the control environment and streamline operations through automation. You will also support the broader Product Advanced and Insights Analytics backlog as and when required.

Other responsibilities will include

• Develop dashboards and models to monitor balance growth, segmentation, transaction behaviour, and driving insights to optimise portfolio performance

• Generate actionable customer insights, analysing behaviour, journeys and pain points to define customer problem statements and shape product, experience and communication improvements

• Provide competitor pricing and market intelligence, tracking rates, offers and positioning to inform pricing decisions and maintain competitiveness

• Drive reporting and control automation, simplifying and automating recurring reporting, controls and operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and strengthen the control environment

• Use CommSec and Group data and systems to complete complex and advanced data analysis that gives the business essential information to help manage risk

• Perform detailed analysis of CommSec and Group data to provide the business with information to respond to regulatory requests within specific timeframes

• Complete required project workstream outputs with quality assurance/approval for your area of responsibility or other additional requests for analytics

• Collaborate with key business partners such as Risk and broader Product teams to understand business needs and help shape the advanced analytics backlog

• Upskill the broader CoE in Advanced Analytics and help engineer the foundations for the future of AI, ML and Agentics in CommSec

Please note that we’re interested in hearing from people who might not meet all the following criteria.

• At least 5 years of Analytics experience in Financial Services or Product Management

• Demonstrated expertise in delivering advanced analytics solutions within high - complexity environments, including applying sophisticated statistical, predictive, and machine - learning techniques to support business decision – making

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python and modern data technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, AWS, GitHub, LLMs with a proven ability to manipulate, analyse, and model large -scale, complex datasets using efficient and scalable practices

• Sound experience across data management and information strategy, including data governance, data quality and data lineage

• Sound level of proficiency in key capabilities – IT SDLC processes, Agile delivery and JIRA/Confluence, written documentation/specification skills.
