The Opportunity

Metalcorp is looking for a Storeperson to join the team based in Charters Towers. Metalcorp is a steel and aluminium distributor also specialising in rural products. It is the rural brand for the land with branches in regional locations and is trusted by customers for the quality of its products and the service of its people. The tailored product range includes specialised livestock handling equipment, building materials, structural and tubular steel, fencing, roofing, aluminium and more.

The Storeperson supports our warehouse operations in ensuring our products and solutions are delivered to our customers in a safe and timely manner through safely assisting in packaging, loading, restraining loads. You will operate forklifts to load and unload deliveries, pick and pack orders and general yard duties.

This role has a Monday-Friday 38-hour standard work week, with opportunity for over-time work on a Saturday morning. This is a permanent full-time day shift position, hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 8:00am - 4:00pm on Friday.

This role offers a competitive weekly rate along with eligibility for overtime shift allowance. Salary is dependent on licenses/tickets and experience.

What Will You Do?

As a valued member of our Charters Towers team, you will:

support and promote a safe working environment
operate forklifts to load and unload trucks
accurately pick and pack orders to prepare our customer deliveries
general yard duties

More About You

No matter your background and experience, we are looking for someone who is a reliable and dedicated individual with a willingness to learn and develop yourself, you will also bring:

hold a current Forklift / High Risk License
a positive attitude towards working in an outdoor environment
the ability to work in a small cohesive team, and within a fast-paced environment
a commitment to your own safety and well-being and care for others
a current Heavy Rigid (HR) manual license (desirable)
